The family of Nancy Grewal, a Sikh social media influencer who was fatally stabbed outside a home in LaSalle, Ontario, is remembering her as a compassionate and joyful person who dedicated her life to helping others.
Grewal, 45, was killed on March 3 outside a residence on Todd Lane where she worked as a personal support worker (PSW). Police have described the incident as a targeted attack and say the investigation is ongoing.
Speaking from Mumbai, Grewal’s sister Alishaa described her as a kind-hearted woman who often used her own money to buy small items for the people she cared for. She said Grewal was cheerful and optimistic, often bringing laughter even in difficult situations.
Before moving to Canada in 2019, Grewal had worked as a professional singer in India. After settling in Windsor, she pursued work in health care and became a PSW, with hopes of eventually starting her own care service that would employ more support workers.
