2023 Canadian International Autoshow Welcomes The Lego Group’s Return

Ticket sales for the long-awaited return of AutoShow kicked off December 1st and consumers are demonstrating their hunger for the show’s return by snapping up tickets at a record pace.

Advance ticket sales are currently running more than 200 per cent higher than they were for the 2020 Show, and now there is even more reason to celebrate!  The AutoShow is proud to announce the return of one of the Show’s most celebrated features, with the LEGO Group once again showcasing a new North American first-reveal of their latest full-size replica supercar.

Building on the incredible success of the life-size LEGO® TechnicTM Bugatti Chiron that was the star of the 2019 AutoShow, the LEGO brand will return with another life-size replica along with a LEGO Play zone and retail showcase to delight and entertain the young and young-at-heart. The exact replica to be displayed at the AutoShow will be disclosed in January, along with opportunities for young creators to showcase their imaginative designs in person.

“We are excited to announce the first special feature of the 2023 AutoShow and welcome the LEGO Group back as an integral part of the event,” says Jason Campbell, General Manager of the AutoShow. “The LEGO Group is not only a ubiquitous brand that is universally loved among children and adults, but also a brand that has had a long association with automobiles. Countless kids have grown up building their LEGO dream-cars – it will be exciting to showcase a full-scale LEGO dream creation here once again at the AutoShow this coming February.”

The LEGO Technic™ building sets have been around for more than 40 years, allowing fans of all ages to explore their limitless creativity. It’s a building system that not only challenges new designs, but also incorporates new engineering functions.

Building life-sized re-creations of super cars is a special challenge for LEGO designers and builders at the Kladno factory in the Czech Republic, which is also where the impressive models for LEGO Retail Stores and LEGOLAND parks have been built. The replicas are meticulous creations that mimic iconic shapes and functions while also providing a fascinating example of the LEGO® Technic™ building system’s potential.

“The LEGO Group and the Canadian International AutoShow are both very popular with families,” says Raquel Faria, Director of Marketing in Canada. “Cars are a near universal passion among kids and adults. As families visit the AutoShow to connect on that shared passion, we hope to inspire them through building with LEGO bricks.”

The 2023 Canadian International AutoShow will take place February 17th to 26th, 2023, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. It returns with an exciting new feature exhibit — Electric City is a one-stop destination for AutoShow attendees to learn everything about automotive electrification. It will be accompanied by a first for the AutoShow, an indoor EV Test Track that will excite and educate attendees firsthand on the benefits of driving electric vehicles. Attendees will be able to experience EVs right on the show floor.

Tickets are now on sale at autoshow.ca
