Bloomberg/Morning Consult poll shows Harris leading Trump in 6 of 7 key battleground states as Election 2024 nears

As the 2024 U.S. presidential race approaches its final stretch, Vice President Kamala Harris holds a lead over former President Donald Trump in six of the seven key swing states, according to a Bloomberg News/Morning Consult poll released on Friday. This follows a poll from the previous day that showed the two candidates tied in six battlegrounds.

In Pennsylvania, Harris leads Trump by five points (51% to 46%), according to the new survey, while an earlier poll by Emerson College/Pollara Strategic Insights had them tied. Harris has also shown an edge in previous polls from other organizations, including The New York Times/Siena College, where she led by four points.

In Michigan, Harris is ahead by three points (50% to 47%), as per Bloomberg/Morning Consult, with Emerson/Pollara showing a tie at 50% for both candidates.

In Wisconsin, Harris leads by three points (51% to 48%), with Emerson/Pollara reporting a tie. Harris has held narrow leads in recent Marist and Quinnipiac polls here as well.

Arizona shows Harris with a three-point lead (50% to 47%), though other polls reflect tighter margins, including ties or a slight lead for Trump.

In Georgia, Harris and Trump are tied at 49%, though Harris had a small edge in earlier polls. In Nevada, Harris leads by seven points (52% to 45%), while North Carolina remains close, with Harris holding a slim two-point lead (50% to 48%).

These results suggest a competitive race in the battleground states likely to decide the outcome of the 2024 election, with Harris gaining significant support among younger, non-white, and female voters, particularly African Americans.

With President Joe Biden stepping down from the race in July after facing growing pressure within his party, Harris has emerged as the Democratic nominee, receiving overwhelming delegate support in August. Polls had previously indicated that Trump was favored against Biden in these swing states, but Harris’ candidacy appears to have shifted the dynamics as both candidates make their final push ahead of Election Day.
