Under sunny skies in front of Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness, the site of Brampton’s future second hospital, the Brampton Professional Fire Fighters Association (BPFFA) launched their annual #BPFFALavenderTruck fundraising campaign, presented by the Canadian Tire stores in Brampton, in support of the William Osler Foundation and the City of Brampton’s efforts for a cancer care centre and a second hospital to serve the residents of Brampton and neighbouring communities.
Building on the success of the 2025 campaign where $47,000 was raised, a frontline fire truck wrapped in the colour lavender will once again be in service for the months of September and October, while responding to calls for service across the city and raising awareness of the campaign and efforts of the members of the BPFFA. Lavender is the colour that is symbolic for awareness of all cancers and serves as a unifying symbol to promote empathy and support for those affected by the illness, regardless of the specific type.
With support from corporate donors such as DMX Membranes, 407 ETR, Mayfield Ford Lincoln and Paradise Developments, the truck will also be attending various community events in the city and seizing opportunities to fundraise for such an important cause.
