The two leaders held detailed discussions on the current situation on the ground, including battlefield developments and Ukraine’s continued push to secure a just and lasting peace. Zelenskyy outlined ongoing efforts and the challenges facing Ukraine as the conflict persists.

He reaffirmed Canada’s commitment to providing sustained military, financial and strategic support to Ukraine.
Both leaders also discussed ways to increase pressure on Russia to engage in good-faith negotiations, reflecting broader international efforts to move toward a diplomatic resolution while maintaining support for Ukraine’s defence.
Reaffirming long-term support, Carney emphasized Canada’s role in Ukraine’s future reconstruction and encouraged continued progress on governance reforms to ensure stability and recovery post-conflict.
The meeting concluded with both leaders agreeing to remain in close and regular contact, reinforcing Canada’s ongoing partnership with Ukraine during a critical phase of the war.
