The Consulate General of India, Toronto organized ‘Viksit Bharat Run’ initiative at Coronation Park, Oakville, Ontario, as part of ‘Seva Pakhwada 2026’ bringing together large number of people from the Indian diaspora, friends of India, community organizations and associations from across the Greater Toronto Area, with participants of different ages and backgrounds coming together in the spirit of Seva and in support of the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
The Viksit Bharat Run draws inspiration from the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for a Developed India by 2047. The initiative reflects call to Indian citizens, both at home and abroad, to actively participate in nation-building.
Speaking on the significance of the event, Consul General Shri Mahaveer Singhvi said, “The ‘Viksit Bharat Run’, organized as part of ‘Seva Pakhwada 2026’, embodies the spirit of service, community participation and individual responsibility that lies at the heart of the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. I deeply appreciate all the participants and community organizations who have come together today and who continue to strengthen their connection with India through their knowledge, skills, enterprise, community service and partnerships. The energy and enthusiasm witnessed today are a powerful reminder that the journey towards a developed India is not shaped by institutions alone, but by the collective efforts and contributions of people and communities across the world.”
The Consul General also interacted with community leaders and participants, exchanging views on their work and initiatives in Canada, as well as the various ways in which they continue to maintain and strengthen their connections with India. Participants were presented with T-shirts and felicitated with certificates.
