HUMAN TRAFFICKING ARREST IN GTA: HAMILTON MAN, 31 CHARGED IN SEX-TRAFFICKING CASE

July 19: Peel Region Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Specialized Enforcement Bureau – Vice have arrested and charged a Hamilton man in connection with a sex-trafficking investigation involving a female under 18 years old in the Greater Toronto Area.

The suspect, Mohammed Karim Mohammed, 31, is alleged to have exerted control over various aspects of the victim’s life, coercing her into performing sexual acts and profiting from these activities.

The charges against Mohammed include:

  • Trafficking Persons Under 18 years old (Section 279.011 (1) CC)
  • Receiving Benefit from Trafficking (Section 279.02 CC)
  • Communicating for Sexual Services (Section 286.1(1) CC)
  • Material Benefit from Sexual Services (Section 286.2(2) CC)
  • Procuring Person Under 18 years old (Section 286.3(2) CC)
  • Householder Permitting Sexual Activity (Section 171 CC)
  • Assault Causing Bodily Harm (Section 267 CC)
  • Assault with a Weapon (Section 267 CC)

Mohammed has been held for a bail hearing and appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
