IIT Alumni Canada (IITAC) successfully hosted its Annual Potluck Picnic 2026, bringing together IITAC members, their spouses, children, friends, and distinguished guests for a vibrant day of community engagement, cultural celebration, and family fun.
The Annual Potluck Picnic has become one of IITAC’s most cherished traditions, providing a unique opportunity for alumni and their families to reconnect, strengthen relationships, and celebrate the enduring bonds forged through their shared IIT experience. The picnic showcased an impressive array of delicious homemade dishes representing the rich culinary diversity of India, with members proudly sharing regional specialties .
This year’s picnic featured several new attractions that added to the festive atmosphere. Attendees were delighted by an engaging magic show presented by Jason Lam and enjoyed a lively stand-up comedy performance by Gaurav Dhama, which kept the audience entertained in the afternoon. Adding a special touch to the event, freshly prepared tea and refreshing rose sharbat were served at the park, for members and guests.
The ever-popular Bingo session once again proved to be a crowd favorite, bringing together participants of all ages for fun and laughter. Children enjoyed games and activities specially organized for them, ensuring that the event offered something for every member of the family.
A highlight of the picnic was the opportunity for younger alumni and families to interact with senior IITians, exchange ideas, and listen to stories and memories from their IIT days. These conversations reflected the strong spirit of mentorship,and lifelong learning, that continues to define the IIT community long after graduation.
The event served as a reminder that while IIT alumni have pursued diverse careers and achievements across Canada , they remain connected through a shared heritage of excellence, innovation, and service. Seeing generations of IITians come together in a relaxed outdoor setting to share food, and experiences was a testament to the strength and vibrancy of the IIT alumni network in Canada.
