The Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce (ICCC) hosted its 27th Annual Golf Championship Cup on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at the Lionhead Golf Club & Conference Centre in Brampton, Ontario. The signature annual event brought together business executives, community leaders, diplomats, and avid golfers for a day of sporting competition, camaraderie, and high-level corporate networking, culminating in an evening reception attended by over 200 guests.
The tournament, which has served as a cornerstone of the Indo-Canadian business community for nearly three decades, featured a shotgun tee-off on Lionhead’s renowned ‘MASTERS’ course. Golfers competed for top honors and the coveted ICCC Burgundy Jacket, a tradition introduced during the 25th anniversary to symbolize excellence, perseverance, and championship spirit.
In the morning, MP Sonia Sidhu and MPP Deepak Anand visited the course, greeting participants and presenting official certificates of recognition on behalf of the federal and provincial governments, commending the Chamber for its ongoing leadership in fostering community engagement, charity, and economic development.
In his welcome address at the evening reception, Prashant Srivastava, President of ICCC, reflected on the Chamber’s growing momentum over the past year. He highlighted key milestones, including ICCC’s engagement during the visit of India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Hon. Piyush Goyal, and the Chamber’s successful multi-city trade mission to India following the bilateral reset under Prime Minister Mark Carney. He emphasized that the annual golf tournament continues to serve as an indispensable platform for building lasting personal and professional relationships that strengthen the Canada–India economic corridor.
Sandeep Mamgain, Vice President of Events and Sponsorship at ICCC, delivered remarks acknowledging the overwhelming support from sponsors, volunteers, and participants. He noted that the tournament’s enduring success over 27 years reflects the vibrancy, generosity, and dedication of the Indo-Canadian professional network.
The evening formal program featured remarks from distinguished government officials and dignitaries. Key remarks and acknowledgements were presented by Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown, Ontario Associate Minister of Small Business Hon. Nina Tangri, and MPP Amarjot Sandhu. Kuljeet Singh Arora, Consul at the Consulate General of India in Toronto, delivered greetings on behalf of the consulate, reiterating the vital role of sports and community forums in deepening bilateral goodwill and cultural ties.
The event received warm greetings and supportive messages from a distinguished group of leaders and dignitaries, including Mahaveer Singhvi (Consul General of India), Hon. Rechie Valdez (Federal Minister of Women and Gender Equality & Secretary of State for Small Business and Tourism), Hon. Doug Ford (Premier of Ontario), Hon. Ruby Sahota P.C., M.P. (MP for Brampton North-Caledon), Nina Tangri (MPP for Mississauga-Streetsville), Juanita Nathan (MP for Pickering-Brooklin), Amb. The awards ceremony celebrated key individual and team achievements, including the Youngest Golfer Award presented to 12-year-old Ryan Shah Singh, alongside awards for Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin. The evening concluded with the presentation of the Winners Trophy and the ceremonial donning of the ICCC Burgundy Jackets by the winning foursome.
