10th December 2024: Mohamed Al-Bashir has been appointed as the caretaker prime minister of Syria’s transitional government, a role he will hold until March 1, 2025. The announcement was made during a televised statement on Tuesday.
Al-Bashir previously led the rebel-administered Salvation Government, which gained prominence following a swift 12-day offensive that reached Damascus. His appointment is expected to play a crucial role in navigating Syria through its transitional phase.
