NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh Faces Heated Confrontation With Protesters Outside Parliament

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh was confronted by protesters outside Parliament on Tuesday, with one person calling him a “corrupted bastard.” This incident is part of a larger trend of increased harassment faced by politicians, as anti-government protesters have been intimidating people near Wellington Street in Ottawa.

A video shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) shows two protesters following Singh in a parking lot, asking if he would support a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Trudeau. As Singh continued walking, someone insulted him. Upset, Singh turned back and asked the group who made the comment. When no one admitted it, he called one man a “coward” for not saying it to his face.

One protester then accused Singh of being aggressive and asked if that was why he supported a war with Russia.

Later, Singh’s spokesperson stated that the protesters had been intimidating and harassing politicians, and reiterated that Singh does not tolerate bullying or condone violence.
