Peel Police Seize Firearms and Lay Multiple Charges in Mississauga Following Strategic Tactical Enforcement Investigations

Region of Peel—Officers from the Strategic Tactical Enforcement Policing Unit (STEP) have seized several firearms and laid multiple firearm-related charges after three separate proactive investigations in Mississauga.

On Friday, October 18, 2024, STEP officers investigated a motor vehicle under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act in the area of Acorn Place, in the City of Mississauga.  As a result, the following four individuals were arrested and charged:

 Keegan Gabriel, a 39-year-old man from Mississauga:   

  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Careless Storage of Firearm
  • Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing There was a Firearm
  • Carry Concealed Weapon
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

Quinton Kelly, a 25-year-old man from Mississauga:

  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Careless Storage of Firearm
  • Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing There was a Firearm
  • Carry Concealed Weapon
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Drive Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available

Mr. Gabriel and Mr. Kelly were both held for bail hearings.

Adrinho Smith, an 18-year-old man from Mississauga:

  •  Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

Kierra Eustache-Cassonova, a 25-year-old woman from Mississauga:

  •  Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

Mr. Smith and Ms. Eustache-Cassonova will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton at a later date.

On Friday, October 18, 2024, STEP officers investigated a second motor vehicle under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act in the area of Acorn Place, in the City of Mississauga.  As a result, the following individual was arrested and charged:

Randall McKoy, a 30-year-old man from Mississauga:

  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing There was a Firearm
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Careless Storage of Firearm
  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon Knowing Its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Having Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor
  • Having Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Accessible

 He was held pending a bail hearing.

On Saturday, October 19, 2024, STEP officers investigated a motor vehicle under the Cannabis Control Act, in the area of Matheson Boulevard and Satellite Drive, in the City of Mississauga.  As a result, the following individual was arrested and charged:

Omari Statterswaite, a 43-year-old man from Toronto:

  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing There was a Firearm
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Carry Concealed Weapon
  • Possession of Firearm Contrary to Order (x3)
  • Having Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Accessible

He was held pending a bail hearing.
