Peel Region CAO Gary Kent elected First Vice-President to Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA) Board of Directors

Gary Kent, Peel Region Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) has been elected First Vice-President of the CAMA Board of Directors for 2026-27 term. Gary Kent will continue serving on the Board of Directors and is on a leadership path toward becoming President of CAMA. He served as Second Vice-President in 2025 and as Treasurer in 2024.

CAMA is a national, non-profit association comprised of senior professionals employed by Canadian municipalities. CAMA champions excellence in municipal administration, providing networking opportunities and professional development resources for their members.

Gary has been CAO of Peel Region since 2023 and, prior to that, held the role of CFO and Commissioner of Corporate Services. He held the same position with the City of Mississauga, where he worked for 25 years. His experience also includes serving as a Finance Manager for a large private sector transit company in the UK and as CEO of Enersource Corporation.

Gary Kent is a CPA, CGA and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). He also holds an ICD.D designation, having graduated from the Directors Education Program from the Institute of Corporate Directors, Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto.

In addition to his work with CAMA, Gary serves on the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Global Council and has contributed to several community boards and committees throughout his career.
