Priyanka Chopra Jonas has announced her next Hollywood project, “Bluefly,” a sci-fi action thriller that will see her star alongside Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe.
Chopra shared the news with fans on Thursday, writing, “Onto the next….” The project adds another major international film to her upcoming slate as she continues work across Hollywood and Indian cinema.
“Bluefly” will be directed by Nimród Antal, known for films including “Predators.”
The story is set in the Congo and follows a grieving United Nations translator who becomes involved in a covert mission to recover a mysterious downed aircraft. Accompanied by a Special Operations team travelling through militia-controlled territory, the mission becomes increasingly dangerous as questions emerge about the aircraft and whether it was ever intended to be recovered.
Details about the specific characters being played by Chopra and Crowe have not yet been revealed.
Highland Film Group CEO and co-producer Arianne Fraser described Chopra and Crowe as a strong pairing for the project, saying the film would combine high-stakes science fiction with a complex, twist-filled story.
Director Antal described “Bluefly” as a character-driven thriller built around a bold science-fiction concept, combining a grounded approach with suspense and action.
The project further expands Chopra’s Hollywood portfolio. In May, she also announced the thriller “Reset,” alongside Orlando Bloom.
Meanwhile, Chopra has been working in India on the final stages of “Varanasi,” directed by S.S. Rajamouli and starring Mahesh Babu. The time-travel epic is currently scheduled for release in April 2027.
