A 24-year-old man from Pathankot, Punjab, identified as Harjas Singh, was shot dead in Calgary, Canada, on Sunday morning. Singh, a resident of Sundar Nagar, had moved to the United States approximately three months ago for employment and was working at a store before traveling to Calgary on business. The tragic news of his sudden death in the 1100 block of Cornerstone Boulevard N.E. has left his family and local community in deep shock and grief.
The Calgary Police Service reported receiving calls regarding a shooting at approximately 12:55 a.m. on August 30. Upon arriving at the scene in the city’s northeast, officers discovered Singh deceased. The Calgary Police Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation, though no suspects have been identified or arrested yet as officers work to establish a motive and track down those responsible.
