Residents can borrow free video games with their free Brampton Library card!

Yes, that is correct.

A free Brampton Library card gives members access to a remarkable range of services and collections, including well-known and trending video games. Cardholders can borrow Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X games for up to seven days by visiting any of its branches in person or by placing a hold online through the Brampton Library catalogue.

Try out a new game or rediscover a past favourite by borrowing from the Library’s collection of Nintendo Switch, Playstation 5, and Xbox Series X. Gamers will find viral titles like Resident Evil 4 as well as other popular movie-based games such as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Avatar, Hogwart’s\ Legacy, and Last of Us Part I and II, among others. There are also video games for sports enthusiasts, including NBA, Madden NFL, NHL, and FC. Members can also borrow trendy games from the Pokémon series and indie games like Stardew Valley for Nintendo Switch.

Brampton Library customers can borrow these games to play while visiting the Library or take them home to enjoy. Borrowed games can be renewed at the end of the seven-day loan period. If there is a waitlist, they must be returned to any of the Library’s nine branches to be enjoyed by other customers.

As part of Brampton Library’s ongoing commitment to expand and improve its services, patrons are invited to suggest video games for purchase that are not currently a part of the Library’s collection.
