TORONTO — One of Canada’s biggest Pride events will end on Sunday with a big celebration.
The Toronto Pride Parade will move through the streets of Ontario’s capital city, with thousands expected to join.
Pride Toronto says the parade will begin at Bloor Street and Church Street, go down Yonge Street, and end at Nathan Phillips Square.
The parade is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m. local time.
This year, the parade will include many LGBTQ+ newcomers to Canada, celebrating their first Pride in Toronto.
Many participants in Toronto’s Pride events see this as a sign of hope and belonging after escaping persecution in other countries.
