January 24, 2024 (Mississauga, ON) – Trillium Health Partners (THP) is reopening its Urgent Care Centre at Queensway Health Centre on January 29, 2024, at 3 p.m., expanding access to quality health care in our community.
The Urgent Care Centre will operate daily at Queensway Health Centre, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., to provide care for individuals of all ages with non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries, such as sprains, minor burns, broken bones, and fevers. The hours of operation align with demand from the community, when other community care options are not as readily available, when Emergency Departments are most used, and the time of day with the highest volume of patients.

This redesigned facility will bring convenient care closer to home for residents of Etobicoke,” said Premier Doug Ford. “Right across the province, we’re building a stronger health care system, with more doctors and nurses and shorter wait times, ensuring people get access to the care they deserve.”
Patients will be able to access the Urgent Care Centre via the entrance across from the parkade, as well as the main entrance of Queensway Health Centre.
“Through our Your Health plan, our government is investing more than ever in expanding hospital capacity with work underway for over 50 new hospital and renewal projects to connect more Ontarians to the care they need, when they need it,” said Sylvia Jones, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health. “Working with Trillium Health Partners, to expand and renew their urgent care, is yet another step our government is taking to ensure patients in the region have access to convenient and high-quality care, close to home, for years to come.”
The Urgent Care Centre was repurposed to serve the community’s needs in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and to reallocate resources to where they were needed most at the time. The Urgent Care Centre space will continue to be shared with the outpatient clinics currently using the space in the morning and early afternoon before the Urgent Care Centre opens.

The Urgent Care Centre team will work closely with Mississauga Health – THP’s Ontario Health Team – to identify patients who are using the Urgent Care Centre, but do not have a family doctor and work to find them better access to ongoing primary care to prevent hospital visits in the future.
