U.S. Ambassador Hoekstra To Address Edmonton Regional Partnerships Conference

U.S. Ambassador to Canada Pete Hoekstra is scheduled to speak today at the Pacific Northwest Economic Region’s annual summit in Edmonton, where regional leaders are gathering to discuss cross-border cooperation and economic development.

According to the conference agenda, Hoekstra will deliver remarks on how regional partnerships strengthen Canada-U.S. relations and support collaboration across the border.

The Pacific Northwest Economic Region, established in 1991, brings together five U.S. states, three western Canadian provinces, as well as Yukon and the Northwest Territories to promote economic and policy cooperation.

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is also expected to deliver a keynote address highlighting energy and trade opportunities, as well as the region’s economic potential.

The multi-day conference features elected officials, business leaders and industry representatives from both countries, with discussions focused on issues including forest management, artificial intelligence, agriculture and tourism.
