Y Media Big Shot: England Triumphs Over Netherlands 2-1 to Secure Spot in Euro 2024 Final Against Spain

July 10: In a thrilling semi-final match on Wednesday, substitute Ollie Watkins’ 91st-minute goal propelled England to a 2-1 victory over the Netherlands, securing their place in the European Championship final for the second consecutive time. England will face Spain in the final on Sunday, July 14, in Berlin.

The match, played in Dortmund, was poised to go into extra time when Watkins received a pass from Cole Palmer and struck a superb shot into the far corner, igniting celebrations among England’s fans and players.

The Netherlands initially took the lead in the seventh minute with a spectacular long-range effort from Xavi Simons. However, England equalized 11 minutes later when Harry Kane coolly converted a penalty, awarded after Denzel Dumfries committed a foul.

The exhilarating encounter saw both teams creating several chances, but it was Watkins’ late heroics that sealed the comeback for Gareth Southgate’s team. England fans celebrated the victory by singing “Sweet Caroline,” looking forward to their upcoming challenge against Spain in the Euro 2024 final.
