16-year-old actor Hudson Meek, known for “Baby Driver,” dies after falling from moving vehicle in Alabama

December 2024: Hudson Meek, the 16-year-old actor best known for his role in the 2017 film Baby Driver, has tragically passed away. He was pronounced dead on December 21 at the University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, due to blunt force injuries he sustained after falling from a moving vehicle two days earlier. The Vestavia Hills Police Department is investigating the circumstances of the incident.

Meek’s death was confirmed through a post on his Instagram, which shared the news without providing specific details. The post expressed deep sadness, saying, “Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight. His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met.”

A memorial service for Meek will be held on December 28 at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Homewood, Alabama, and will be livestreamed.

In his obituary, Meek was described as a unique personality—confident, quick-witted, and a lover of jokes and pranks. It highlighted his spontaneous nature and how he made everyone around him laugh. Hudson was also a sophomore at Vestavia Hills High School, where he played football, was involved in the choir, and participated in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Meek’s breakout role came in 2017 when he played the younger version of Ansel Elgort’s character in Baby Driver.
