A 31-year-old man from Brampton faces several charges after allegedly assaulting a woman and forcing her into a room at the University of Toronto Mississauga over the weekend.
The incident occurred on Sunday on the second floor of the Communication, Culture, and Technology building. The victim, who suffered minor injuries, managed to escape and seek help.
Campus police, along with Peel Regional Police, responded to the situation. The suspect, Husnain Chaudhry, later turned himself in on August 6. He is charged with assault, forcible confinement, and sexual assault.
University officials stated that they worked closely with police to identify the suspect using various methods. As a result, Chaudhry will be banned from all university campuses.
