Canada’s May Inflation Rate Climbs to 2.9%, Driven by Service Price Increases

In May, Canada’s annual inflation rate climbed to 2.9%, driven mainly by higher prices for services, according to Statistics Canada’s report on Tuesday. This increase marks a rise from April’s 2.7% rate. Statistics Canada noted that service prices rose by 4.6% compared to a year ago, up from a 4.2% increase in April, while prices for goods remained steady with a one percent growth rate.
