Elon Musk Calls PM Trudeau ‘An Insufferable Tool’ Amid Escalating Canada-U.S. Tensions

In a recent social media post, billionaire Elon Musk criticized Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, calling him “an insufferable tool” and predicting he “won’t be in power for much longer.” Musk’s remarks, shared on the platform “X,” came as a response to a video of Trudeau addressing Kamala Harris’ U.S. presidential loss, which he described as a setback for women’s progress.

During a speech at the Equal Voice Foundation Gala in Ottawa, Trudeau expressed concerns about women’s rights being “under attack overtly and subtly,” reaffirming his stance as a proud feminist. This drew Musk’s attention, escalating his ongoing criticisms of the prime minister since Donald Trump’s re-election.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford also weighed in, stating that he conveyed to Trudeau that such remarks were “not helpful.” Ford’s comments came after a meeting between Canada’s premiers and the prime minister to address Trump’s tariff threats. Trump has proposed imposing a 25 percent tariff on Canadian imports unless border security issues are addressed.

Tensions in Canada-U.S. relations have intensified, with Trump recently suggesting Canada should become America’s 51st state, further mocking Trudeau as “Governor Justin Trudeau” in a post on Truth Social. Trudeau, in turn, affirmed that Canada would respond firmly if tariffs are imposed, with plans to enhance border visibility and personnel.

The ongoing exchanges highlight the growing strain in diplomatic ties between the two nations amidst broader discussions on tariffs and trade.
