India’s Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal met with Ontario Premier Doug Ford to discuss expanding economic cooperation and strengthening bilateral partnerships between India and Ontario. In a post shared on Facebook, Goyal said the leaders explored new opportunities to deepen collaboration across several strategic sectors.
According to Goyal, discussions focused on manufacturing, technology, infrastructure, clean energy, food processing, and critical minerals. Both sides also highlighted the importance of boosting trade and investment ties to support long-term economic growth and innovation.
The meeting comes as India and Canada continue efforts to strengthen business engagement and explore new economic partnerships at the provincial level despite broader diplomatic challenges between the two countries.
