Ajax MPP Rob Cerjanec has officially entered the race to lead the Ontario Liberal Party, becoming the fourth candidate seeking the party’s top position. The first-term legislator, elected in 2025, launched his campaign under the slogan “Let’s Build Ontario,” promising to rebuild and strengthen the party ahead of the next provincial election.
Cerjanec says his campaign will focus on affordability, health care, and education — key issues he believes are impacting Ontarians across the province. Fellow Liberal caucus member Stephanie Bowman has endorsed Cerjanec and will help lead his leadership campaign.
Cerjanec joins a growing field of candidates that includes former federal cabinet minister Navdeep Bains, provincial caucus member and former hospital executive Lee Fairclough, and former political staffer Dylan Marando. Meanwhile, Liberal MP Nate Erskine-Smith has indicated a leadership bid is now unlikely after losing the Scarborough Southwest nomination race to Ahsanul Hafiz.
