PM Justin Trudeau Discusses Challenges Facing Canadians on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

During a recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau highlighted Canada’s strengths while acknowledging the difficulties many Canadians are currently facing. He pointed out that the country has much more to offer than just its iconic maple syrup and scenic landscapes, emphasizing Canada’s global standing.

However, Trudeau also addressed more serious topics, including the rise of far-right nationalism and political polarization in both Canada and the U.S. When Colbert compared Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre to Donald Trump, Trudeau noted that Canada is not immune to extremist rhetoric and xenophobia, even though Canadians have worked hard to build a fair and inclusive society.

The prime minister stressed that key policies like universal healthcare, climate change efforts, and dental care for low-income Canadians are achievements that require constant advocacy and determination.
