Primont Homes Donates $2.5 Million to Help Build Brampton’s Second Hospital

Gift to William Osler Health System Foundation reflects a family legacy of building communities—and investing in the infrastructure families need to thrive

Primont Homes, a family-owned GTA homebuilder with a long-standing presence in Brampton, has presented a $2.5 million gift to William Osler Health System Foundation (Osler Foundation) in support of building Brampton’s second hospital, marking one of the most significant philanthropic commitments in the company’s 50-year history.

The gift represents a more than tenfold increase from Primont’s initial $200,000 commitment, first
announced at Hockey Night in Brampton in August 2025, and reflects a significant expansion of the
company’s support for William Osler Health System (Osler) and the future of health care in the community.

The cheque presentation, held in Brampton and attended by Mayor Patrick Brown and leaders from Osler
and Osler Foundation, reflects a belief that strong communities require strong infrastructure—and health
care is one of the most important investments that can be made.

“Philanthropy runs in our blood. Our father always taught us that if you’re fortunate enough to build in a
community, you have a responsibility to give back to it,” said Joe Montesano, Principal, Primont Homes.

“When we build homes, we’re building communities—but communities need more than houses. They need strong infrastructure and health care is one of the most important pieces. Supporting Brampton’s second hospital is about making sure families have access to the care they need, close to home, for generations to come.”

Primont Homes, whose family has been building communities in Brampton for decades, continues to invest in the city through major new developments, including its newest master-planned community, Cornerstone.

Their commitment to supporting the hospital reflects the same long-term vision—helping ensure families
have access to the services they need at every stage of life. The funds will support the transformation of Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness (Peel Memorial) into Brampton’s second hospital, including a new emergency department, expanded outpatient services and increased capacity to serve a growing population.

Across Ontario, communities are responsible for funding 100 per cent of medical equipment and 10 per
cent of construction costs for hospital projects, making philanthropic leadership from builders like Primont Homes critical to advancing this meaningful redevelopment initiative.

“Brampton’s growth has outpaced its health care infrastructure for years, and the need for a second hospital is urgent,” said Mayor Patrick Brown. “Primont Homes has helped shape this city by building communities where families can put down roots. Their generosity now helps ensure those same families have access to world-class health care, close to home.”

“On behalf of Osler Foundation, we are deeply grateful to Primont Homes and the Attardo and Montesano
families for this extraordinary act of generosity,” said Shelagh Barry, Interim President and CEO, William
Osler Health System Foundation. “This gift is about more than dollars—it is about a shared belief in
Brampton’s future. Building a second hospital requires community champions who understand that investing in health care means investing in every family, every neighbourhood and every generation. Primont’s leadership is helping turn that vision into a reality.”

“We are incredibly grateful to Primont Homes for this transformational investment in the future of health
care in Brampton,” said Dr. Frank Martino, President and CEO, William Osler Health System. “This gift will
directly support the purchase of critical medical equipment and infrastructure needed by our teams to serve patients in a modern, purpose-built facility. On behalf of the patients, families and the care teams who support them every day, thank you for your generosity – it will make a meaningful difference in the care and experience of those we serve.”
