4th December: Investigators from the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are searching for five individuals and requesting witnesses to come forward following a robbery at a Richmond Hill jewelry store.
On Monday, December 2, 2024, at approximately 4:00 p.m., police were called to the scene of a commercial robbery near Yonge Street and Carrville Road. Four suspects entered the store and demanded cash, while the fifth suspect waited outside in the vehicle.
During the robbery, one suspect assaulted an employee, while three others smashed open jewelry display cases. The suspects stole a significant amount of jewelry before fleeing in a Nissan Maxima. The vehicle has since been recovered by the police.
The employee was left with minor injuries as a result of the assault.
The first suspect is described as a white male, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and white shoes. The other three suspects are described as Black males, all dressed in black clothing. All of the suspects were wearing masks and gloves during the robbery.
There is no available description for the suspect who remained in the car during the crime.
Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed anything unusual in the area, or anyone with dashcam or security footage from the time of the incident, to come forward. Those with information regarding the suspects are also encouraged to provide tips.
