Trucker Arrested with $5 Million Cocaine Haul at Blue Water Bridge

A truck driver was arrested last week after over $5 million worth of cocaine was found at the Blue Water Bridge when entering Canada. Border officers discovered about 460 kilograms of cocaine, packaged in bricks, in a trailer last Wednesday on the Canadian side of the bridge connecting Sarnia and Michigan, according to an RCMP spokesperson. The estimated street value of the cocaine is $5.5 million.

RCMP spokesperson Jean Turner stated, “This is a conservative estimate representing the sale of the cocaine by the kilogram.”

Jasdeep Brar, 34, is charged with importing and possessing cocaine for trafficking purposes, court documents reveal. Brar is currently in Sarnia Jail and has made several court appearances, including one on Monday, as his lawyer works to arrange a bail hearing.
