Trump And Vance Honour Late Sen. Lindsey Graham In Washington

Funeral services for longtime Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, who died on July 11 at the age of 71, are underway in Washington, D.C., marking the start of two days of tributes celebrating his decades of public service.

Tuesday’s ceremonies include military honors recognizing Graham’s service in the U.S. Air Force, along with a special tribute at the U.S. Capitol Rotunda. A funeral service will follow at the Washington National Cathedral, where President Donald Trump is scheduled to deliver remarks at 2 p.m. ET.

Earlier in the day, Vice President JD Vance and Senate Majority Leader John Thune paid tribute to Graham at the Capitol, remembering him as a longtime senator and influential Republican who served as a close ally and trusted adviser to President Trump.

The Washington ceremonies mark the first of two days of memorial events. On Wednesday, Graham will be honored in his home state of South Carolina with a procession at the state capitol followed by a private burial.
