Peel Regional Police have released body-cam footage of an officer’s interaction with a protester during a tense situation outside a Hindu temple in Brampton earlier this month.
Police were called to manage a large protest at the Hindu Sabha Mandir on The Gore Road on Sunday, Nov. 3. Social media videos show demonstrators holding banners in support of Khalistan, a proposed Sikh nation, clashing with others carrying India’s national flag.
This demonstration followed previous violent protests outside the same temple, which later spread to two locations in Mississauga. The videos capture intense scenes, with people engaging in fistfights and striking each other with poles around the temple grounds. So far, five individuals have been charged, with more arrests expected.
