Controversial influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate have appeared in a federal court in Miami as extradition proceedings begin over dozens of charges filed against them in the United Kingdom.
The brothers were arrested in Florida after British prosecutors announced 38 new charges, including rape, sex trafficking and controlling prostitution for gain. Authorities say the case now involves seven alleged victims and a total of 59 charges.
During Monday’s brief hearing, the brothers confirmed that they understood their legal rights. Their lawyer, Joe McBride, maintained that they were innocent and said they would fight extradition.
The next hearing is scheduled for July 27. A final decision on whether the brothers will be extradited would ultimately require approval from the U.S. administration.
Andrew and Tristan Tate have denied all allegations against them. They also face separate criminal proceedings in Romania and a civil lawsuit in the United States.
