The Walk with Israel brings together thousands of Jewish community members and allies in support of Israel and to celebrate Jewish unity and pride.
Today, Toronto’s Jewish community, allies from diverse cultural and faith communities, and elected officials from all three levels of government came together in a powerful display of solidarity for UJA Federation of Greater Toronto’s 57th annual Walk with Israel.
According to Toronto Police estimates 60,000 participants joined the Walk, making it the largest turnout in the event’s 57-year history.
As Canada’s largest annual Jewish community event—and one of the largest public demonstrations of support for Israel anywhere in the world—the Walk with Israel once again transformed the streets of midtown Toronto into a vibrant celebration of Jewish pride, community, and connection.
“This year’s Walk with Israel was a remarkable demonstration of the strength, resilience, and unity of our community,” said Ken Tanenbaum, chair of UJA Federation of Greater Toronto’s board of directors. “Today sent a clear message: we stand together with pride, strength and determination. We are grateful to be joined by so many friends and allies; this turnout speaks to the deep connection our community feels to Israel and to one another.”
Adam Minsky, president and CEO of UJA Federation of Greater Toronto, added, “What we witnessed today was an extraordinary expression of solidarity, Jewish pride, and hope. Tens of thousands of people chose to come together publicly and proudly in support of our community, our values, and our connection to Israel. Today was a powerful reminder that hate will not define us. We choose unity over division, connection over fear, and hope over hate.”
The Jewish Security Network (JSN) and the Toronto Police Service (TPS) planned and implemented extensive security measures, maintaining a strong and visible presence throughout the event. However, the success of the event was the result of a broader collective effort. Working alongside multiple security companies, community security partners (such as Shomrim), and other community organizations (including Hatzoloh), JSN helped ensure that Jewish life in Toronto continues to be lived proudly and safely.
This collaboration was especially meaningful at a time when the Jewish community continues to face elevated levels of antisemitic incidents and hate crimes. UJA and the broader Jewish community are deeply grateful to JSN, TPS, and all partner organizations whose professionalism, commitment, and co-operation helped keep participants safe.
As a charitable fundraising event, the Walk supports Israelis in need. Every dollar raised through the Walk goes directly to urgent humanitarian relief and long-term recovery efforts through UJA’s trusted partners in Israel. Donations help provide mental health support, essentials for evacuees, trauma care for thousands, and recovery plans as communities stabilize.
